This project revolves around the discussion of a traditional ethnic group in China—the Mosuo people. The tourism development in their region has boosted the economy but also alienated the Mosuo culture. It wanted to criticize the impact of modern tourism on this community from three aspects through digital modeling: the dramatic presentation of local life, uncertain identity, and forced expulsion. In creating a 3D animation to convey the bizarre scenes, it demonstrated the characteristics of the new Mosuo culture after it was oddly grafted with tourism.

Mosuo people are engaged in performance day and night and can’t distinguish between dreams and reality.

Unknown identities, ever-changing nationalities, and distorted perceptions of Mosuo cultures have made them lose their belongings.

The honk of the migrating birds drives them away from their land, and invaders begin to creep into their territory. They have to shift to a new place. Is it a fresh start for them?
